Gustav Mahler (7 July 1860 – 18 May 1911)

Many thanks to Classic FM for introducing him to a mainly Baroque nut.

With the right composition, anything can be beautiful, I think.

I’m now reading..

The Great Gatsby.

My reader’s eye is now in a current state of temporary suspension above Nick’s dinner with Tom, Daisy and Miss Baker. Yes, it’s still right at the beginning. I hope that my reading OCD doesn’t kick in this time, I hope.

This will probably the 4th time I will be starting to read this book in, 6 years. It’s not the book’s fault - how can something inanimate and passive be guilty? - it’s mine. The reason’s a long story, and which I can’t be bothered to relate

PS. The subtitle is the best I have ever seen, better than any Great Gatsby cover design to draw in any potential reader.

Don’t you wish? I do.

For starters!

A constant reminder to myself, always
